About OK compost HOME Certification

Our dog poo bags are certified under TÜV Austria's OK compost HOME certification programme, one of the world's leading certifications for products suitable for home composting. The programme has been a pioneer in this field since 2003 and has helped form the basis for several international standards, including Australia's AS 5810:2010 – Biodegradable plastics suitable for home composting.

The certification verifies that the bags meet strict requirements for home compostability, giving you confidence that you're choosing a product designed with both convenience and the environment in mind.

Please Note: While our dog poo bags are certified to TÜV Austria's OK compost HOME certification programme, pet waste itself can contain bacteria and parasites that may not be suitable for all home compost systems. At this stage, we recommend disposing of used bags in your regular household waste unless your local council advises otherwise. Checking with your local council is always the best way to understand the most up to date disposal options available in your area.

Your Impact

In just four years, we have raised over $180,000 for 21 animal welfare organisations chosen by you!

Over 760 organisations across Australia support pets, native wildlife and farm animals, and 64% receive no government funding.

Many smaller organisations rely heavily on donations to keep doing their vital work. As operating costs continue to rise, support matters more than ever.

Our goal is to give these organisations an extra way to fundraise. The organisations we work with are nominated by you and reviewed each quarter. Once selected, they become one of our Partnership Pals and remain in the program, so you can choose them to receive the donation from your order.

At checkout, you can choose which shelter or rescue you would like the profits from your order to support.

Frequently Asked Questions About Our Dog Poo Bags

Do these dog poo bags fit into a dispenser?

Yes. Our Dog Poo Bags are designed to fit standard bag dispensers, making them an easy swap from most other brands already being used.

Plus, the colourful rolls add a little extra fun to daily walks.

Are they leak resistant?

Absolutely. Our Dog Poo Bags are made to be durable, strong and leak resistant to help avoid messy surprises while out walking. From tiny pups to giant breeds, we’ve tested the bags across all kinds of situations to make sure they can handle the job.

Do the bags help block odours?

Yes. Our bags are made from thick material designed to help contain unpleasant smells while out and about. While they are unscented, the durable barrier helps reduce odours without the need for double bagging.

Are they compostable and biodegradable

Are these dog poo bags suitable for home composting?

Yes. Our Dog Poo Bags are certified to the TÜV Austria OK compost HOME standard, which means they are designed to break down in home composting environments, not just industrial composting facilities.

Like all compostable products, breakdown time can vary depending on factors such as temperature, moisture, airflow and microbial activity within the compost. Well maintained compost systems will generally help the bags break down more efficiently.

While the bags themselves are suitable for home composting, pet waste should always be composted carefully and in line with local guidelines. Compost containing dog waste is generally not recommended for use on edible gardens or food producing plants.

At this stage, we recommend disposing of used bags in regular household waste unless local council guidelines state otherwise. Checking with a local council is always the best option for the most up to date advice.
