To bring our new mission to life, we have selected four deserving organisations from the animal welfare sector to feature this quarter. Based on your votes at the end of December 2024, these organisations will receive donations.
Animals in Need Brisbane Inc is a dedicated group of passionate volunteers and foster carers, working tirelessly to rescue as many cats and dogs as possible. They focus on providing each animal with the training, health care, and rehabilitation needed to prepare them for the loving homes they deserve.
The organisation is always looking for more foster carers to help save lives. They provide everything—food, bedding, toys, vet care, and training—while foster carers offer love, patience, and a safe environment until the animals find their forever families. Together, they believe they can make a huge difference in the lives of animals in need!
Humane Animal Rescue is a foster-based animal rescue that ensures rescued pets are loved just as much as their foster carers love them. The organisation is dedicated to treating all animals humanely, rescuing dogs and cats from pounds across Victoria and NSW, and placing them into foster care where they can prepare for their forever homes.
Greyt Greys Rescue is a registered not-for-profit charity dedicated to greyhound rescue since 2017. They are a vital safety net for these gentle creatures, offering them a second chance at a happy and fulfilling life. The team work around the clock to save, rehabilitate, and rehome ex-racing greyhounds in need, while advocating for their welfare. With a dedicated team of passionate volunteers and experienced professionals, they not only rescue greyhounds from dire situations but also provide them with personalised care. Each greyhound receives necessary medical care, and is placed in a loving foster home until they find their forever family.
Maggie’s Rescue envisions a world where no animal is in need of rescue. Operating as a cooperative of volunteer foster carers and passionate animal advocates, they work together to achieve this vision. Maggie’s Rescue follows a no-kill philosophy and focuses on finding forever homes for animals through their Foster to Adopt Program. This program is essential to the organisation’s success, as it rehabilitates animals in preparation for their new lives.
Pets Of The Homeless works to help keep vulnerable people and their pets together by alleviating the burden of providing essential pet care during times of hardship. They do this by providing pet food and supplies, veterinary care, safe shelter, and other support when people and pets need it most. The organisation offers this support in a judgement-free environment, ensuring that every person facing homelessness feels supported in their efforts to care for and stay with their pet. Their belief is that the companionship and emotional support of a pet is crucial to the wellbeing of the people they are assisting.
Sydney Dogs & Cats Home has, for almost 80 years, offered shelter, care and love to hundreds of thousands of Sydney’s lost, abandoned or neglected dogs and cats. As Sydney's only charity pound, they open their doors to thousands of pets each year, servicing multiple council areas and helping over a million Sydneysiders. The home cares for pets until they can be reunited with their owners or find new, suitable homes. They’re also home to a wide range of community programs, bringing healing, wellbeing and joy to communities.
Before their forever home, there’s Sydney Dogs & Cats Home. They are the home of hope. But they’re currently in temporary facilities, and they urgently need your help to build a new and bigger purpose-built forever home at Kurnell in Sydney’s Sutherland shire.
