Meet our new Pals who were supporting!
Best Friends Forever Rescue Illawarra
These legends are true doggy heroes of the Illawarra! Best Friends Forever Rescue Illawarra steps in when pups are down on their luck, rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming dogs whoâve been abandoned, neglected or are on the dreaded pound list. They handle everything from veterinary work to microchipping and ensure each dog finds its happily-ever-after. Relying on a tight-knit crew of volunteers, fosters and big-hearted locals, theyâre proof that a little love goes a long way.
Â
Canberra Pet Rescue
Canberra Pet Rescue is all about second chances for furry friends. Operating across Canberra and Queanbeyan, their volunteer team swoops in to save animals in need, especially cats and kittens on âdeath row.â Through their network of foster homes, they provide each pet with the care, cuddles, and veterinary care they need before matching them with their purr-fect forever family. No flashy shelters here, just pure heart and community spirit.
Â
Hear No Evil Australian Deaf Dog Rescue
Hear No Evil is Australiaâs only rescue dedicated to deaf and special-needs dogs and wow, do they do incredible work! These clever canines might not hear, but they sure can love. The team provides expert training using visual cues, finds them patient and loving homes, and offers lifelong support to adopters. Operating through a network of foster carers nationwide, theyâre proving that âdifferentâ absolutely doesnât mean âless.â
Â
Monikaâs Doggie Rescue
Monikaâs Doggie Rescue has been saving tails for decades. Based in Ingleside, NSW, this no-kill shelter has helped thousands of dogs avoid euthanasia and find their forever families. Led by the incredible Monika Biernacki, their mission is simple: rescue, care, love and rehome, no matter how long it takes. With a passionate volunteer base and a ânever give upâ attitude, theyâre one of the OGs of Aussie dog rescue.

Safe Pets Safe Families
Safe Pets Safe Families is where compassion meets clever thinking. They keep pets and their people together during tough times, whether itâs domestic violence, homelessness or health emergencies. Through their crisis foster care and pop-up vet clinics, they make sure no pet gets left behind. Founded by Jennifer Howard after her own heartbreaking experience, this volunteer-run group is changing lives (and wagging tails) all across South Australia.
Pets of the Homeless
For the past 10 incredible years, Pets of the Homeless has been a lifeline for vulnerable people and their beloved pets. This compassionate organisation makes sure no one facing hardship has to choose between their own wellbeing and their furry best friend.
Through free pet food, veterinary care and emergency boarding, they support people experiencing or at risk of homelessness, recognising that for many, a pet isnât âjustâ a companion, theyâre family, comfort, protection and unconditional love.
To mark their 10-year anniversary, weâre proud to feature Pets of the Homeless as one of our quarterly donation partners. Their work perfectly reflects what we believe in at About A Dog kindness, loyalty and never leaving anyone behind. Every roll purchased this quarter helps keep pets safe, fed and loved, while supporting the people who love them most.
Hereâs to 10 years of extraordinary impact and many more to come!
