About A Dog “Share Your Story” Competition

Terms and Conditions

1. Promoter
The promoter is About A Dog Pty Ltd (ABN [insert ABN]), headquartered in Sydney, NSW, Australia.

2. Eligibility

  • Entry is open to Australian residents aged 18 years and over.
  • Employees, directors, and immediate family members of About A Dog Pty Ltd are not eligible to enter.

3. Competition Period

  • The competition runs on a monthly basis, beginning at 12:00am (AEST) on the first day of each calendar month and ending at 11:59pm (AEST) on the last day of that same month.
  • Entries received outside this period will be entered into the following month’s draw.

4. How to Enter
To enter, participants must:

  1. Film a short video (approximately 30 seconds to 1 minute — don’t worry if it’s a little longer).
  2. Tell their story about their pet, adoption journey, or how they support animal welfare.
  3. Complete the entry form on the official competition page: aboutadog.com.au/win.
  4. Upload their video directly through the form and click “Submit.”
    Each completed entry form with a valid video submission counts as one entry.

5. Prize

  • The prize for each monthly draw is one year’s supply of About A Dog toilet paper, which is equal to 6 x Premium Recycled Toilet Paper - 48 Double Length Rolls, valued at $234 RRP.
  • The prize is not transferable, exchangeable, or redeemable for cash.
  • About A Dog reserves the right to substitute the prize for another of equal or greater value if circumstances beyond its control require it.

6. Winner Selection and Notification

  • Each month, one winner will be selected by About A Dog founders Dom and Vin based on creativity, heart, and impact shown in the video submission.
  • The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  • Winners will be announced at the start of the following month via the About A Dog blog on aboutadog.com.au and may also be contacted directly via email.

7. Delivery of Prize
The prize will be delivered to the winner’s nominated Australian address within 30 days of the winner ordering their prize from the About A Dog Website.

8. Entry Content and Usage Rights
By entering the competition and submitting a video or story, participants grant About A Dog Pty Ltd:

  • A non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, and worldwide licence to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, and communicate their content in any media.
  • Permission to use their first name, pet’s name, likeness, and submitted story or video for promotional purposes without further payment or approval, including but not limited to About A Dog’s website, social media platforms, advertisements, and printed materials.

9. Privacy
All personal information collected will be handled in accordance with About A Dog’s Privacy Policy. Information will only be used for administering the competition and related promotional activities.

10. General

  • About A Dog reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and to disqualify any entrant who tampers with the entry process or submits misleading or inappropriate content.
  • About A Dog is not responsible for technical errors, lost or incomplete entries, or delays beyond its control.
  • The promoter reserves the right to modify, suspend, or cancel the competition if required due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control.

Content Usage Terms

By submitting a story, photo, or video to About A Dog through this competition or any related campaign, you acknowledge and agree that:

  1. Ownership: You are the creator of the submitted content and have full rights to share it.
  2. Usage Rights: You grant About A Dog Pty Ltd a perpetual, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce, publish, edit, adapt, and distribute your content (including your name, pet’s name, and likeness) across its marketing channels — including but not limited to social media, website, newsletters, paid advertising, and printed materials.
  3. Purpose: Content may be used for storytelling, promotions, or to raise awareness of About A Dog’s mission to support animal welfare.
  4. Attribution: About A Dog may credit you by first name and/or pet’s name where reasonable, but is not obliged to do so in all uses.
  5. No Compensation: You acknowledge that no financial or other compensation will be provided for the use of your submitted content.
