1. Promoter, promotion period and eligibility
1.1 The promoter is About A Dog Pty Ltd, ABN 17 650 591 432, of 11 Ashford Ave, Milperra NSW 2214 ("About A Dog", "we", "us").
1.2 Information on how to enter and the prize forms part of these terms and conditions. By entering, you agree to these terms.
1.3 The $5K Giveaway (the "Promotion") opens at 12:00am AEDT on Thursday 5 November 2026 and closes at 11:59pm AEDT on Thursday 12 November 2026 (the "Promotion Period"). Entries received outside the Promotion Period won't be accepted.
1.4 Entry is open to Australian residents aged 18 years or older at the time of entry.
1.5 Employees of About A Dog and their immediate families, and anyone directly involved in running the Promotion, are not eligible to enter.
1.6 We may ask any entrant or winner for proof of identity, age and residency. If you can't provide it, your entry or prize may be cancelled.
2. How to enter
2.1 To enter, visit the $5K Giveaway page on aboutadog.com.au during the Promotion Period and complete the entry form with your first name, last name and email address, and tick the box to agree to these terms and conditions. A phone number is optional.
2.2 Uploading a pet photo is optional. It's just for fun and does not count towards your entry or change your chance of winning.
2.3 By entering, you agree to receive marketing emails from About A Dog. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email, and unsubscribing does not affect your entry.
2.4 Limit of one entry per person. Each person may only use one email address. If we find someone has entered more than once, only their first valid entry will count.
2.5 No purchase is necessary to enter.
2.6 Entries that are incomplete, false, made by automated means, or that otherwise don't comply with these terms are invalid. Our decision on whether an entry is valid is final.
2.7 We're not responsible for entries that are lost, delayed or not received because of technical issues, including problems with the website, form or your internet connection.
3. Prize, draw and winners
3.1 There are five prizes. Each prize is $1,000 cash (AUD), paid by bank transfer to an Australian bank account in the winner's name. The total prize pool is $5,000.
3.2 Prizes are not transferable or exchangeable. Each person can win only one prize.
3.3 The draw will take place at 11 Ashford Ave, Milperra NSW 2214 at 10:00am AEDT on Friday 13 November 2026. Five winners will be selected at random from all valid entries.
3.4 We will also draw five reserve entries at the same time, in order, in case a prize goes unclaimed.
3.5 Winners will be notified on Friday 13 November 2026 by email, using the email address they entered with. If a winner gave us a phone number, we may also call them. Winners' names will be announced on the About A Dog website and by email on Friday 13 November 2026.
3.6 To claim a prize, winners must reply to our email within 14 days of the notification email being sent. We will then ask for bank details directly and securely. We will never ask for bank details in the entry form, by social media message or by phone call.
3.7 Prizes will be paid within 30 days of a winner confirming their details.
3.8 If a winner doesn't respond within 14 days, is found to be ineligible, or can't be contacted, their prize is forfeited. A redraw will take place at 11 Ashford Ave, Milperra NSW 2214 at 10:00am AEDT on Friday 4 December 2026, using the reserve entries in the order they were drawn. Any redraw winner will be notified by email within two business days and has 14 days to claim.
3.9 We aren't responsible if a winner gives us incorrect bank details. Winners should get their own advice about any tax implications of their prize.
4. Your content and photos
4.1 By entering, you agree that About A Dog may use all information and content you submit, including any pet photos, in About A Dog marketing communications and materials, including social media, email, our website and advertising, without payment to you.
4.2 You must own any photo you upload, or have permission from the owner to share it. Please don't upload photos that show other people without their permission.
4.3 Photos must not be offensive, unlawful or infringe anyone else's rights. We may remove or not use any photo at our discretion.
4.4 If you'd rather we didn't use your photo, email us at info@aboutadog.com.au and we'll stop using it in new materials.
5. Privacy
5.1 We collect your name, email address, phone number (if provided) and any photo you upload so we can run the Promotion, contact winners, and use content as set out in section 4.
5.2 When you enter, we'll also use your details to send you About A Dog marketing emails. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email. We won't send you SMS marketing because you entered.
5.3 We store your information securely in our website, form and email platforms (Shopify, Hulk Forms and Klaviyo) and handle it in line with our Privacy Policy: aboutadog.com.au/policies/privacy-policy. The Privacy Policy explains how to access or correct your information, or make a complaint.
5.4 We record that you agreed to these terms and the date you entered.
6. General
6.1 We may change, suspend or cancel the Promotion if something outside our reasonable control affects it, such as fraud, technical failure or a virus, subject to any directions from a regulator.
6.2 We may disqualify anyone who tampers with the entry process or acts in a way that's unfair to other entrants.
6.3 Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for any loss or damage arising from the Promotion, except where that loss is caused by our negligence.
6.4 This Promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Meta (Facebook and Instagram) or Google. By entering, you release Meta and Google from any liability in connection with the Promotion. Any questions or comments about the Promotion should be directed to About A Dog, not Meta or Google.
