Forever Friends Animal Rescue: Saving Vulnerable Animals Across Victoria

Forever Friends Animal Rescue is one of Victoria’s leading volunteer-run animal welfare organisations. Since 2011, they’ve rescued thousands of abandoned, neglected, and at-risk animals, ensuring every pet has a chance at a safe, happy future. From dogs and cats to horses, rabbits, and even farm animals, their mission is to give every creature the second chance they deserve.

What Does Forever Friends Animal Rescue Do?

Forever Friends Animal Rescue (FFAR) is a registered Australian charity based in Victoria. With a network of over 700 volunteers, they provide critical support for animals facing euthanasia in council pounds or those suffering from neglect and abandonment.

Every rescued animal receives:

Full veterinary care (including desexing, vaccinations, and microchipping)

Behavioural rehabilitation

Safe and loving foster care

Once ready, animals are matched with their perfect forever home. FFAR also offers a four-week trial adoption period and behaviourist support to ensure long-term success for each pet placement.

Building a Sanctuary for Healing

To support animals with more complex needs, Forever Friends is building a world-class 100-acre Animal Rehabilitation Sanctuary in Victoria’s Yarra Valley. This sanctuary will provide long-term care for animals recovering from trauma, injury, or behavioural challenges who need more time before being rehomed.

It will also become a centre for education, volunteer training, and community engagement, shaping the future of ethical animal care in Australia.

Life-saving veterinary treatments
